Beaverton DUI Attorney

Jason Short is a Pacific Northwest kid at heart. Born in Washington State and raised in Salem, Oregon, his passion for the outdoors – especially the Deschutes County area – is exceeded only by his passion for being a lawyer. Jason represents clients in both criminal and non-criminal matters throughout Oregon. His extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system allows him to quickly assess the best resolution to varying legal situations. Over the course of his distinguished legal career, Jason has developed long-standing relationships with local judges and attorneys with whom he has gained a reputation as an honest, loyal, and fair man.

As a result of his significant experience in the courtroom, Jason knows the ins and outs of criminal and civil cases and the potential strategies of opposing counsel. Prior to going into private practice, Jason worked for nearly eight years as a Deputy District Attorney in Oregon. In that position, Jason tried over 160 cases and handled over 6,000 matters ranging from DUIs, traffic crimes, misdemeanors, felonies, and Measure 11 cases. He also represented attorneys facing criminal charges.

Before his years as a Deputy District Attorney, Jason interned in the United States Attorney’s Office in Portland where he gained experience trying cases in Federal Court. He also trained new police officers and sheriff’s deputies about search and seizure law, knowledge of which he brings to his clients cases.

Jason’s wide-ranging skill and reputation have been recognized nationally. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, he was named to “The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers” list. This invitation-only national organization extends its membership to the top civil plaintiff or criminal defense lawyers in each state who demonstrate high-level leadership, reputation, influence, stature, and profile.

Jason attended college in Utah and earned his law degree from Willamette University College of Law in Oregon. Now married and the father of four beautiful children, Jason loves to spend time with his family. He also golfs, fishes, plays racquetball, hikes, and camps, and is an Eagle Scout.
